1、 Overview

The mixed cellulose microporous membrane is made of nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate. It is a porous membrane filtration material with uniformly distributed and penetrating micropores on the membrane. The porosity is about 80%.

Microporous filter membrane is made by applying polymer chemical materials and pore forming additives on a support layer after special treatment. In the application of membrane separation technology, microporous membrane is the most widely used membrane variety, which is simple, fast, and widely used in many fields such as scientific research, food testing, chemical engineering, nanotechnology, energy, and environmental protection. Microporous membrane is hydrophilic, non-toxic, and hygienic. It is a porous membrane filtration material with uniform pore size distribution and penetrating micropores, with a pore size ratio of up to 80 ‰. Mainly used for filtering aqueous solutions, it is also known as aqueous membrane.

2、 Characteristics

The pore size is relatively uniform, the porosity is high, there is no medium detachment, the texture is thin, the resistance is low, the filtration rate is fast, and the adsorption is extremely small. Flammable, when storing, attention should be paid to sealing, moisture prevention, and fire prevention.

Characteristics of various microporous filter membranes:

(1) Nylon film

Features: Good temperature resistance, can withstand 121 ℃ saturated steam hot pressing disinfection for 30 minutes, working temperature does not exceed 60 ℃, good chemical stability, can tolerate various organic and inorganic compounds such as dilute alkali, alcohols, esters, oils, halogenated hydrocarbons, and organic oxides.
Usage: Water filtration for electronics, microelectronics, semiconductor industries, and filtration of tissue culture media. Liquid medicine filtration, beverage filtration, high-purity chemical product filtration. Filtration of aqueous solutions and organic mobile phases.

(2) Polyvinylidene fluoride membrane (PVDF)
Characteristics: The membrane has high mechanical strength, high tensile strength, good heat resistance and chemical stability, and low protein adsorption rate; Has strong negative electrostatic and hydrophobic properties; It has two forms: hydrophobic and hydrophilic. But it cannot tolerate acetone, DMSO,THF,DMF, Dichloromethane, etc.
Application: Hydrophobic polyvinylidene fluoride membrane is mainly used for gas and steam filtration, as well as filtration of high-temperature liquids;
Hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride membrane is mainly used for purifying and filtering solvents and chemical raw materials such as tissue culture media and additives, sterile treatment of reagents, and filtration of high-temperature liquids.

(3) Mixed cellulose ester (CA-CN)
Features: Uniform pore size, high porosity, no medium detachment, thin texture, low resistance, fast filtration rate, minimal adsorption, low cost of use, but not resistant to organic solutions and strong acid and alkali solutions.
Usage: Water injection for hot pressing sterilization in the pharmaceutical industry, and for filtering out particles in large infusion solutions.
Sterilization of thermosensitive drugs (biochemical agents such as insulin ATP, coenzyme A, etc.) using a 0.45um filter membrane (or 0.22um)
Analysis and determination of particles and oil insoluble substances in solution, as well as determination of water pollution index.

(4) Polypropylene (PP)
Features: No adhesive, chemically stable, flexible, not easily damaged, high temperature resistant, able to withstand high-pressure sterilization. Non toxic, odorless, acid and alkali resistant.
Usage: Suitable for making various coarse and fine filters, foldable filter cartridges.
A plate and frame filter membrane suitable for industries such as beverages and pharmaceuticals.
Suitable for supporting and pretreatment of reverse osmosis membranes and ultrafiltration membranes.
Polypropylene film is non-toxic and can be widely used in fields such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, and beverages

(5) Polyether sulfone (PES)
Features: The microporous filter membrane made of ether sulfone material belongs to hydrophilic filter membrane, which has the characteristics of high flow rate, low dissolution, good strength, does not adsorb proteins and extracts, and does not contaminate the sample.
Purpose: Low protein adsorption and high drug compatibility, designed specifically for biochemical, testing, pharmaceutical, and sterilization filtration devices.

(6) Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Features: The widest chemical compatibility, able to tolerate DMSO, THF,DMF, Dichloromethane, strong solvent.
Application: Filtration of all organic solutions, especially strong solvents that other filter membranes cannot tolerate.

(7) Glass fiber filter membrane (GF)

Glass fiber filter membrane has an extremely fine fiber structure, which has high filtration performance and high dirt carrying capacity, as well as good hydrophobicity and biological inertness. They have good chemical resistance to most reagents, except for high concentrations of acids and bases, and are used at temperatures below 300 ℃. Usage: Generally used for atmospheric dust testing, air dust filtration, heavy metal sampling, flue gas sampling, environmental atmospheric sampling, aerosol/particulate matter sampling. It can be used as a weighing method filter membrane with high capture efficiency and low resistance, suitable for most domestic medium and high flow rate samplers.
